WATCH: Suyash Sharma cleans up Marcus Stoinis with an unplayable googly | PBKS vs RCB, IPL 2025

The 13th over of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match 37 brought a defining moment in Punjab Kings’ innings as Suyash Sharma, the young Royal Challengers Bengaluru leg-spinner, spun a web around Marcus Stoinis with an absolute beauty. Stoinis, a powerful striker known for his ability to counterattack, had just arrived at the crease. But with the scoreboard pressure rising and wickets tumbling, the stage was set for something special and Suyash delivered.

Suyash Sharma’s magical googly bamboozles Marcus Stoinis

Bowling from over the wicket, Suyash tossed up a slower googly that drifted in the air and landed on a teasing length just outside the line of off stump. It wasn’t just the turn it was the deceptive flight, the slower pace, and the late dip that made it so lethal. The ball looked like a stock leg break at first but sharply turned in off the surface. Stoinis, misjudging the trajectory and pace, played down the wrong line with hard hands, trying to defend off the front foot. However, the ball sneaked past his bat and pad with clinical precision, hitting the leg stump flush. It was a classic dismissal for a leg-spinner flighted, deceiving, and rewarding. The stump cartwheeling was a sight to behold, and Suyash roared in celebration. Even before Stoinis could register what had happened, his brief stay ended in disbelief. This delivery not only broke PBKS’s hope of recovery but also stamped Suyash’s arrival as a game-changer in the match.

RCB restrict Punjab Kings to 157/6 despite aggressive start in Mullanpur

Punjab posted a moderate total of 157/6 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 37 of IPL 2025 at Mullanpur. The Kings began with aggressive intent as Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh powered them to 62/1 in the Powerplay. However, the middle overs saw a sharp collapse triggered by disciplined bowling from Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma. Prabhsimran’s brisk 33 off 17 and Inglis’ 29 off 17 provided momentum, but wickets at regular intervals, including Inglis and Stoinis falling to Suyash’s clever variations, dented their charge.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer failed to anchor, while Nehal Wadhera’s mix-up led to a run-out. The finishing touches came from Shashank Singh (31* off 33) and Marco Jansen (25* off 20), adding 45 unbeaten runs for the seventh wicket. For RCB, Krunal (2/25) and Suyash (2/26) were standout performers, with Romario Shepherd also picking a crucial wicket. Despite PBKS’s blazing start, RCB’s bowlers pulled things back impressively in the middle overs to keep the total in check.
