The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (Nafed) has procured over 2.62 lakh tonnes of tur (arhar) at minimum support price of ₹7,550 per quintal till April 20 in the kharif marketing season 2024-25 under the price support scheme.
Over 1.25 lakh tonnes of tur has been purchased in Karnataka, followed by 48,865 tonnes in Gujarat. In Andhra Pradesh, 44,107 tonnes of tur has been procured at MSP, while in Maharashtra the purchased quantity stood at 36,257 tonnes. In Telangana, about 8,010 tonnes have been procured; while in Uttar Pradesh, about 14.60 tonnes have been purchased.
A total of 1.76 lakh tonnes of moong has been procured during the kharif 2024 PSS scheme at MSP of ₹8,682 per quintal. Rajasthan topped the list of States where 1,45,887 tonnes were procured, followed by Karnataka at 26,725 tonnes, Haryana at 2,664 tonnes and Telangana 990 tonnes. About 63.25 tonnes were procured in Maharashtra, while 144.25 tonnes of moong were procured in Gujarat.
About 35.70 tonnes of urad were procured from Rajasthan during the kharif 24 PSS at MSP of ₹7,400 per quintal.
In the rabi 2025 price support scheme season (PSS), Nafed has procured a total of about 10,385 tonnes of gram at MSP of ₹5,650 per quintal. Some 5,792 tonnes have been procured in Telangana and 3,718 tonnes in Madhya Pradesh. In Rajasthan, 545 tonnes have been procured by Nafed, while in Andhra 183 tonnes and Maharasthra 145.90 tonnes.
Similarly, 51,155 tonnes of masoor have been procured at the MSP of ₹6,700 per quintal during the ongoing rabi procurement season. Of this, 49,795 tonnes have been procured in Madhya Pradesh and 1,360 tonnes in Uttar Pradesh. Rabi moong of 4,417 tonnes have been procured in Andhra Pradesh.
