Fertilizer cooperative Iffco has announced a 16 per cent rise in its net profit at ₹2,823 crore in the 2024-25 fiscal against ₹2,443 crore in 2023-24, mainly due to higher revenue. But, the turnover had a modest rise of 4.5 per cent at ₹41,244 crore from ₹39,474 crore.
“Iffco has registered a profit (before tax) of ₹3,811 crore last fiscal and it is for three consecutive financial years the profit is over ₹3,000 crore,” Chairman Dileep Sanghani said after the annual general meeting.
He announced a 20 per cent dividend in the paid-up share capital for its over 35,600 member cooperative societies as decided by the Board.
Iffco’s Managing Director US Awasthi highlighted that the 47 per cent higher sales of liquid nano fertilizers (both urea and DAP) was a major milestone during the 2024-25 fiscal, helping the multi-State cooperative to achieve higher turnover.
Awasthi also said Iffco will soon launch Nano Zinc, Nano Copper in liquid form with 100 ml bottle and Nano NPK fertilizer which will be in granular form for soil application in basal dose to fulfil the micro-nutrients need of soil. Further, Iffco will build a modern seed innovation centre at its Kalol unit, he said.
Iffco’s share in the country’s total production of fertilizers (urea, DAP and complex) was almost constant at 17.98 per cent in FY25 against 17.67 per cent in FY24. Fertilizer production by Iffco in its all 10 plants rose to 93.10 lakh tonnes (lt) in 2024-25 from 88.95 lt in the preceding year, while sales increased marginally to 113.78 lt from 111.73 lt, year-on-year.
India’s total production of all fertilizers was up 2.9 per cent at 517.83 lt in FY25 against 503.31 lt in the previous year.
Sales of Nano fertilizers were at 364.41 lakh bottles (of 500 ml each) in 2024-25 compared with 249.45 lakh bottles in the previous year. Nano DAP had the best growth results with 118 per cent increase in sales, y-o-y. But conventional Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) sales remained flat at 67.32 lt and 25.62 lt, respectively. Sales of Sagarika brand, under which water soluble fertilisers, specialty and bio-fertilizers are produced by Iffco, have also increased, the cooperative said.
