Flight from Chennai was searched thoroughly at Colombo Airport following an alert issued by Chennai Area Control Centre regarding a suspect wanted in Indian was believed to be on board.
A statement issued by the SriLankan Airlines said that Flight UL122 arrived at Colombo from Chennai at 11.59 hr was subject to a comprehensive security search upon arrival. The aircraft was thoroughly inspected and subsequently cleared for further operations.
However, as a result of the mandatory security procedure, the next schedule service, Flight UL 308 to Singapore, was delayed, the statement said.
