The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) is organising Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB) from July 1 to 3 at the Chennai Trade Centre.
The Expo aims to showcase India’s potential in seafood exports, infrastructure development, and advancements in aquaculture. The event will bring together seafood exporters, importers, farmers, equipment manufacturers, and other stakeholders, providing a platform to exhibit cutting-edge technologies and industry innovations. It will also serve as an opportunity to connect Indian seafood businesses with international buyers, said a press note.
As part of SEB, MPEDA is organising a Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) to facilitate direct interactions between global buyers and Indian exporters. To strengthen buyer confidence and highlight India’s seafood infrastructure, the government agency propose organising a field visit to Andhra Pradesh, where invited buyers will explore world-class processing plants, shrimp farms, hatcheries, and feed mills. A total of 48 buyers from 12 countries have been confirmed for the RBSM.
Seafood Expo Bharat will be an umbrella for various stakeholders of this sector, such as hatchery operators, feed mill operators, aqua farmers, aquaculture machinery manufacturers, fishers, processors, processing machinery manufacturers, trading agents, technical experts, exporters to build up trade relations and contribute towards the progress of seafood exports from the country.
The event offers a platform for all stakeholders to meet and deliberate on various aspects of the aquaculture and seafood industry for striking business deals and to have an update on the latest developments in the field.
