AVPL International gets DGCA nod to conduct drone pilot training

AVPL International, a leading player in India’s drone ecosystem, has been officially authorised by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to conduct drone pilot training in the Medium-Class Rotorcraft category.

The company is among the first few remote pilot training organisations which have the ability to train pilots for drones weighing between 25 kg and 150 kg.

The demand for medium-category drone pilots is rising significantly, especially in sectors such as agriculture and defence.

Drones in this category are used for advanced tasks such as crop monitoring, precision spraying and defence surveillance. Despite the growing adoption of these technologies, the availability of certified pilots in India remains limited.

AVPL International aims to address this shortage through its DGCA-approved training programmes, preparing a new generation of skilled professionals to meet industry demands.

Preet Sandhuu, Founder and Managing Director of AVPL International, said the DGCA authorisation for medium-category drone training not only validates the company’s efforts but also inspires it to work even harder toward empowering youth with advanced skills and driving innovation.

Agricultural drone

AVPL has developed 10-litre capacity Viraj drone, an agricultural drone designed for efficient crop spraying and field monitoring.

The company’s focus on research and development has been further amplified through strategic collaborations with premier institutions like IIT Ropar and IIT Kanpur.

These partnerships are aimed at advancing drone research, fostering innovation and introducing modern drone solutions tailored for Indian agriculture.

With its growing influence in the drone sector and its focus on cutting-edge technology, AVPL International aims to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s journey toward a self-reliant drone ecosystem.

Established in 2016 by visionary co-founders Preet Sandhuu and Deep Sihag Sisai, AVPL has operations across 12 States and a robust network of 50 global incubation & skill hubs and 20 world incubation & skill hubs.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
